GBMD’s mission is to be a premier unifying and educational network of students and professionals that embrace diversity, achieve their full leadership potential and engage in community service. We do this by providing high impact training and mentoring that focuses on leadership, and the ability to leverage one's cultural values, uniqueness, others' social biases and retiree experiences. We envision a nation whose major corporations have executive leadership teams comprised of diverse leaders that strengthen their communities, and have participation consistent with their overall employee demographics. GBMD differentiates itself from others by being a unifying network inclusive of all, providing insight from successful retirees, and focusing on social biases. The term social biases differs from discrimination in that social biases are prejudicial beliefs, whereas discrimination refers to prejudicial behavior. Our belief is that social biases will always exist, and therefore, to reach one’s full potential, it is to everyone’s benefit to address them.
