The Global Down Syndrome Foundation is a Denver-based public nonprofit (501(c)(3)) focused on improving the lives of people with Down syndrome through research, medical care, education, and advocacy. It supports two core initiatives: the Linda Crnic Institute for Down Syndrome, the first U.S. academic home dedicated to research and medical care for the condition, and the Anna and John J. Sie Center for Down Syndrome at Children's Hospital Colorado, the largest multidisciplinary pediatric and adolescent Down syndrome medical care team in the country. The foundation pursues its mission through fundraising and government advocacy to address disparities in national funding for Down syndrome and to fund programs and conferences. It funds and organizes a range of programs, camps, educational series, and dance programs, and runs major events such as the Be Beautiful Be Yourself Fashion Show and its DC Gala. Recent activity includes the AcceptAbility Gala in Washington, DC, highlighting its ongoing national outreach and fundraising efforts.
