Global Health Media Project is a United States-based non-profit in the media production industry with a small team of 2-10 employees that designs and produces video and animation to teach essential healthcare practices for frontline health workers and families in low-resource settings. Its content is designed to be short, practical, and mobile-friendly, distributed widely on the Internet for streaming or offline use. The organization has produced more than 90 videos covering newborn care, birth, breastfeeding, and care of small or preterm babies, as well as two animation shorts titled The Story of Cholera and The Story of Ebola. As of early 2017, more than 4,000 organizations, including WHO, UNICEF, MSF, Save the Children, health ministries, teaching institutions, and NGOs, used its videos, and the content is featured on sites such as the WHO Reproductive Health Library and Save the Children’s Healthy Newborn Network. In the 2020s it expanded its offerings with new videos on managing childbirth complications and content for skilled birth attendants, launched a smartphone app called Birth & Beyond, and in 2022 released 17 breastfeeding and nutrition videos for mothers and caregivers in Ta’ang.
