The debut of the English edition of Global Times on April 20, 2009 establishes a new reliable channel for Chinese people and the rest of the world to understand one another.

The Chinese edition of Global Times has been devoting itself to the same mission by showing Chinese readers how they are tightly connected to global affairs and introducing an exuberant and intricate China to the world as well. 

Global Times particularly focuses on expressing Chinese people’s real feelings, sharing their opinions and standpoints on significant international issues and promoting their understanding of the global views on China.

Global Times (English edition) is a comprehensive newspaper distributed nationally, featuring 24 pages from Monday to Friday. Our readers include foreigners in China and English-reading Chinese. Readers both abroad and in China may also access the newspaper at www.globaltimes.cn . 

Having inherited the sharp style of the Chinese edition, the English edition does not avoid reporting sensitive issues and it is exploring a broader range of topics for coverage. In our pages you’ll find a dynamic China with the sincere and explicit voices of the public.
