GMD Foodservice Marketing is a full-service distributor and manufacturer’s representative of foodservice equipment to the Michigan foodservice industry. GMD’s belief in total customer service is our commitment that we will work with you from the facility planning stages through equipment installation, start up and demonstration Western Michigan Distributors (WMD) was formed in 1983 primarily as a Manitowoc Ice Machine distributor for the western half of Michigan. John Molhoek purchased WMD in 1998. In November of 1999 WMD expanded their territory to include the eastern half of Michigan and changed their name to Greater Michigan Distributors (GMD). In 2002 GMD started partnering with manufacturers that go to market with representatives and in 2005 GMD acquired Advantage Marketing. This acquisition added 6 new rep lines and some key personnel. That is when they changed their name to GMD Foodservice Marketing - a name that better reflects their wide range of product offerings and services Until to 2011, GMD Foodservice Marketing covered only Michigan and was not involved with Smallwares. In 2011 GMD partnered Rubbermaid Commercial Products to represent them in Michigan and Indiana. This led GMD to open up an Indiana office and add a Smallware Division. Today GMD Foodservice Marketing covers the MAFSI 6 Territory (Michigan and Indiana) and has 3 divisions – Equipment Representation, Smallwares Representation, and Equipment Distribution.
