Go Energy Financial Credit Union first opened its doors in 1969 as GEMC Credit Union.

At that time, a hard-working group of employees of the Georgia Electrical Membership Cooperatives realized teamwork is the key to making financial goals a reality. Those founding members established a financial cooperative that would work just as hard as they do to provide support for their families, co-workers and communities well into the future.

Their ultimate goal: helping members afford life.

Over the years, our services, membership, and outstanding reputation have grown tremendously because we’ve continued to work hand-in-hand with each of our members so that we all succeed together. Our goal is still to help our hard-working neighbors turn their financial goals into fantastic futures.

On July 5, 2019, GEMC Credit Union officially became Go Energy Financial Credit Union. While our name changed, our commitment to Go Energy Financial members remains stronger than ever.
