GoodWeave International, founded in 1994 and based in Washington, DC, operates in international trade and development to eliminate child labor from global supply chains. Through its market-based approach, it has transformed South Asia's handmade carpet sector, contributing to a decline in child labor from about one million victims in 1995 to an estimated 200,000 today. The GoodWeave label serves as assurance that products were produced without exploitation and that a portion of purchases supports rescue, remediation and prevention programs, with the organization counting more than 170 brand partners. It occupies a position in the international trade and development space focused on ethical sourcing and worker rights, and seeks to extend its model to home textiles, apparel, and related sectors. A recent development includes a June 2026 partnership with NIBA Designs and Deirdre Dyson for its annual rug raffle.
