Graham Health System is a private, not-for-profit health care organization serving Canton and surrounding communities with inpatient and outpatient care, as well as home health and long-term care services. Its history dates to 1909, when the community’s hospital building was donated by Alice and Caroline Graham, marking the start of the institution’s long-standing involvement in local health care. The organization operates a comprehensive medical facility and supports education through its School of Nursing, which is accredited by the National League for Nursing and approved by the State of Illinois. The school has a notable track record in preparing nurses who pursue licensure, reflecting the system’s emphasis on workforce development within Illinois. In recent years the system has expanded its regional footprint, including a new Ambulatory Surgery Center in Galesburg that began operating after regulatory approval. The expansion aligns with a broader effort to improve access to high-quality surgical care in rural and underserved communities. In February 2026, the system announced the appointment of Allison Sours as President and Chief Executive Officer, signaling leadership continuity as it continues serving central and western Illinois.
