Greensgrow engages our neighborhoods in cultivating social entrepreneurship, urban agriculture, and community greening. 

Greensgrow is a nationally recognized leader in urban farming and is open to the public March-December. We are reconnecting city dwellers with rural food producers and promoting the greening of Philadelphia's homes and gardens. Greensgrow brings green ideas to life while offering food and flowers to our neighbors, to build a better, more progressive and sustainable Philadelphia. 

A small but dedicated staff runs a multifaceted operation in Kensington and West Philadelphia proving that abandoned land is only abandoned if we choose to leave it that way. Today visitors to the farm are greeted by high tunnel raised beds of organic soil filled with vegetables that are sold at our well stocked farmstand, our own version of a CSA (City Supported agriculture), Milkshake the pig, chickens, beehives and a Nursery that grows and nurtures the highest quality veggie starts and sells the greatest variety of plants in the city. What can we say? We were and are enthusiastic.

Our food access programs the SNAP Box Program and Mobile Markets, partner with community-based organizations and businesses throughout Philadelphia to overcome the barriers to accessing fresh produce at an affordable cost. In 2015, we proudly received the Hunger Fighter Award from The Coalition Against Hunger for our innovative approaches in combatting food insecurity in our region.
