1887 Cette histoire commence deux ans avant la construction de la Tour Eiffel. Paris est en train de devenir le centre de la création mondiale. La gastronomie française explose et suscite la curiosité des gourmets et des chefs du monde entier.
Les desserts, de plus en plus sophistiqués, deviennent les incontournables symboles gourmands des grandes occasions. Un entrepreneur visionnaire, ETIENNE GOBEL, parie sur le fait que cet engouement pour la pâtisserie ne fait que commencer et se lance dans la fabrication de moules à gâteaux, en cuivre et en fer blanc. Le succès est immédiat et international. Bientôt à l’étroit dans ses murs parisiens, Etienne Gobel installe son usine en Touraine où elle se trouve toujours et où s’y perpétue la tradition.

1947 Soixante ans plus tard, la France est en pleine reconstruction. Les légumes reviennent dans les assiettes des habitants et notamment la pomme de terre. Instaurée comme l’une des perles de la gastronomie française au dix-neuvième siècle, son retour était attendu par les restaurateurs.
L’un d’eux demande à un ami mécanicien d’imaginer un appareil pour faciliter la préparation de la purée. LOUIS TELLIER relève le défi et invente le premier moulin à légumes professionnel du monde. Une révolution dans les cuisines ! Inventeur de génie, cet ancien marin vétéran de la Première Guerre Mondiale, multipliera les succès dans son usine de la banlieue parisienne. Aujourd’hui encore, l’usine est à la pointe de l’innovation. 
Un an auparavant et dans les mêmes circonstances, le coupe légumes manuel en acier est inventé sur les rives du Lac Léman à Thonon les Bains : la Mandoline Bron est née. Elle fera le tour du monde des grandes cuisines professionnelles. En plus de sept décennies, l’usine BROU COUCKE verra naître de nombreuses inventions majeures. Et l’aventure continue !
