Grow Appalachia, a strategic initiative of Berea College, is an organization collaborating to build a thriving food system in the central Appalachian region. Working toward this purpose is a team of passionate individuals who deeply care about food, farming, community and conservation. Grow Appalachia’s model is delivered through education, technical assistance, and resource distribution.
Collaborating with families, communities, and organizations, Grow Appalachia works to build a stronger food system in the region. Programs offered by Grow Appalachia support participants to grow, preserve, and sell/distribute healthy and local food, while also building community, celebrating cultural diversity, and protecting natural resources.
