Based on Hong Kong Island, GS1 Hong Kong was established in 1989 by the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce. It serves a diverse corporate community, counting around 8,000 members across nearly 20 industries, including retail consumer goods, food and food services, healthcare, apparel, logistics, and information technology. In 2026 the organization participated in InnoEX, hosting an IoT Data Hackathon with an award ceremony at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, illustrating ongoing engagement with digital transformation and innovation.
