Gutchess Lumber produces 11 species of premium northern hardwoods in a variety of thicknesses, grades, and proprietary sorts. Our manufacturing facilities are located in the heart of hardwoods lumber country, with five manufacturing operations in New York and Pennsylvania. Gutchess Lumber has been practicing sustainable forestry for over a century. Today Gutchess Lumber owns tens of thousands of acres of forests in the heart of prime northern hardwoods country of New York and Pennsylvania. We selectively harvest forests on 15 to 30 year cycles, maintaining the health of the forest and improving the quality of the timber stands. Our product offering of 11 hardwood species grow in mixed hardwood forests on well drained sites which naturally regenerate. We offer Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC) lumber. Gutchess Lumber also offers logging and forestry services. Our philosophy is that “it all begins in the woods” which is why we employ over 20 certified foresters on our staff whose collective experience is greater than 250 years. These experienced professionals manage our company’s timber lands and assist other forest landowners in maximizing their long term returns through professional forest management.
