Habitat Bay Waveland was born out of the devastation of Hurricane Katrina and the subsequent need for affordable housing. Bay St. Louis and Waveland were ground zero for the storm. Habitat Bay Waveland has served more than 1,081 families and will continue working to find innovative ways to serve even more families that need a hand up, not a hand out. In 2016, Habitat Bay Waveland expanded service area through a merger with the Pearl River County Habitat. Today, we serve more than 101,000 people in a service area that stretches 1,372 square miles (larger than the state of Rhode Island). We are thankful for the support of over 8,000 volunteers over the last 12 years. We continue to support our community with various programs such as weatherization, critical home repairs, and our veterans repair program.
