Habitat for Humanity of Greater Sioux Falls works to accelerate and broaden access to decent, affordable housing in Minnehaha, Lincoln, and Turner Counties. Starting in 1976 as a grassroots effort on a community farm in Southern Georgia, the Christian housing organization has since grown to become a leading global nonprofit working in nearly 1,400 communities throughout the U.S. and in nearly 70 countries. As the local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International since 1989, Habitat Sioux Falls has built or rehabilitated 196 homes and completed over 400 critical home repair projects. Habitat homebuyers help build or repair their homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. Sales of donated household materials at the ReStore help build an additional two homes each year and keep reusable material out of the landfill. Through donating, volunteering or adding their voice, everyone can help build homes, communities and hope in Greater Sioux Falls. To learn more, visit siouxfallshabitat.org.
