Established in 1979, Hallberg Engineering, Inc. (HEI) is a consulting engineering firm specializing in mechanical, electrical, and technology systems design, building analysis, and commissioning. HEI’s dedicated staff is experienced in engineering design for higher education, K-12 education, retail/restaurant, entertainment/hospitality, industrial, government, healthcare, among other market sectors.  Having a staff consisting of several professionals registered in 49 states allows us to provide engineering services for clients throughout the United States.

HEI is a Small and Minority Business Enterprise (S/MBE) certified with the State of Minnesota, University of Minnesota, City of Minneapolis, Minnesota Department of Transportation, Metropolitan Airport Commission, Metropolitan Council, Hennepin County, Ramsey County, and City of St. Paul.

Mechanical and electrical services include pre-design studies, energy usage simulation, early schematic planning and budgeting, timely design development, thorough construction documents, and comprehensive construction administration along with post-occupancy evaluation. Post-occupancy assistance with commissioning and utility tracking ensure adherence to an owner’s original design intent.  HEI has extensive experience in performing energy audits, energy studies, and energy upgrade projects. Current design experience includes projects abiding by the U.S. Green Building Council LEED® certification and MN Sustainable Design Guidelines (B3).
