Halvorson and Partners (H+P) is an industry-leading structural engineering firm, sought by architects and clients world-wide for projects requiring the highest level of structural engineering expertise and collaboration. With extensive experience engineering a range of structures, H+P specializes in those requiring a unique vision – such as high-rise buildings, long span structures and projects with particularly challenging conditions. H+P was founded in Chicago in 1996 by Robert A. Halvorson, an international high-rise expert and former director of structural engineering at Skidmore Owings & Merrill (SOM). With the strategic addition of industry leading experts and internal development, H+P has grown into a highly experienced engineering group working from both Chicago and Shanghai offices. Leading the practice with Bob are Principals Jim Swanson and Greg Lakota, Associate Principal Carrie Warner and Regional Director Yantong Zhao. Together, they and their H+P colleagues have designed and delivered hundreds of structures around the world – including China, the United States, Russia, Korea, Vietnam, Spain, and the United Arab Emirates. In August of 2015, Halvorson and Partners was acquired by WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff, a global engineering and professional services organization. Halvorson and Partners joins WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff’s U.S. business, which provides structural and MEP engineering and related specialty services out of 16 national offices.
