Hawaiʻi Opera Theatre is a performing arts organization based in Honolulu, Hawaii. Founded in 1960 as a division of the Honolulu Symphony Society and incorporated in 1980, it has grown into Hawaiʻi's only professional opera company and one of the state's largest performing arts organizations. Its productions are staged across Hawaiʻi’s major islands, reaching more than 30,000 patrons, students, and teachers each year. 

The company maintains year-round education programs designed to broaden access to opera, including initiatives that provide dress rehearsal access to students, school touring productions, and an Opera Residency program that partners with elementary schools to develop and mount opera projects aligned with curricula. During the 2020-2021 season, HOT adapted its artistic and education offerings for online distribution through HOT Digital, reaching 9,600 viewers in over 100 countries. In February 2024, Hawaiʻi Opera Theatre appointed Elizabeth Askren as its inaugural Principal Guest Conductor.
