Hawaii Wildfire Management Organization (HWMO) is a nonprofit environmental services group based in Kamuela, Hawaii, established to provide wildfire protection across the Hawaiian Islands. Since its founding in 2000, HWMO acts as a coordinating hub for collaboration among government agencies, non-government organizations, and local communities, coordinating efforts to reduce wildfire risk. Its programs focus on community-based preparedness education, vegetation fuels management to safeguard homes and natural areas, and enhancing firefighting capacity through training, equipment, planning, and mapping. HWMO also serves as the nonprofit arm of local firefighting agencies to support joint projects, such as the Wildfire and Drought Lookout! campaign and fire planning initiatives.
