The Hawaiian Council, known as the Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement (CNHA), is a member-based nonprofit focused on advancing cultural, economic, political, and community development for Native Hawaiians. Based in Kapolei, Hawaii, it functions as a national network of Native Hawaiian organizations and serves as a voice in public policy. It operates a loan fund, delivers capacity-building services and leadership development, and convenes the Annual Native Hawaiian Convention, and it is certified as a Native Community Development Financial Institution by the U.S. Treasury and a HUD-certified housing counseling agency. The organization provides access to capital, financial education, and individualized financial counseling for low- and moderate-income families, and, with a mid-sized staff, acts as a national intermediary delivering grants and loans to underserved communities in Hawaii. In 2025, CNHA expanded its scope through the acquisition of Nā Mea Hawaiʻi, a cultural retail institution.
