With more than 40 years’ experience, Hays Travel is proud to be the UK’s largest independent travel agent, offering excellent service, value and choice in short haul, long haul, and cruise holidays. In 2023, we were also voted the nation’s favourite travel agent, winning three gold awards at the British Travel Awards thanks to public vote, including Best National Travel Retailer. This year brought further accolade as we were recognised as the travel industry’s Best Agency to Work For.

Established by John Hays in 1980, John and Irene Hays became ‘Heroes of the high street’ in 2019, when Hays Travel acquired the entire portfolio of former Thomas Cook shops, providing re-employment opportunities to the 2,500 staff who were made redundant. Hays Travel has continued to grow and now has over 490 branches across the UK and employs 4,500 people.

Throughout its history, Hays Travel colleagues have worked hard to help the communities where we operate. Each year every one of our branches receives £500 to invest in their local community. The Hays Travel Foundation, established in 2015, works with a wide range of organisations and charities to help young people achieve and be the best that they can be in their health, sport, the arts, and education.
