The Helicos® Genetic Analysis System is the first technology capable of true direct RNA, cDNA and DNA measurements available to the scientific community.  The system is comprised of the HeliScope™ Single Molecule Sequencer, the HeliScope™ Analysis Engine, and the HeliScope™ Sample Loader.  Novel reagent packaging and intuitive software provide for easy operation, automated tracking of consumables, and overall management of the system.

Helicos has recently launched a sequencing services program that allows scientists to access the revolutionary Helicos single molecule DNA, cDNA and direct RNA sequencing technologies. Helicos True Single Molecule Sequencing (tSMS™) and Direct RNA Sequencing (DRS™) technologies provides a direct measurement of billions of individual RNA/DNA molecules with high accuracy, simplicity, and scale. Our technologies require no amplification, ligation, cDNA synthesis (for Direct RNA Sequencing) or other complex sample manipulation, and eliminate the biases associated with amplification-based sequencing techniques. Our mission is to eliminate bottlenecks and to improve productivity, as well as to continue the discovery of new and novel research and development findings in an affordable manner.
