Hellmuth + Bicknese is a full service architectural design and planning firm dedicated to planning for sustainable development and providing building solutions through high-performance design. Together the two principals, Daniel Hellmuth and Ralph Bicknese bring over 40 years combined experience in educational, government, housing, commercial, retail, transportation, historical renovation and planning projects. The firm has a staff of five professionals experienced in planning, design, production, construction administration, graphics and management. In concert with the project team, we strive to develop projects that not only meet client needs but surpass their expectations, provide lasting value to the community and lead to a sustainable and regenerative way of building.

We look beyond the basic services most architectural design firms provide and consider the environmental, financial, and human impacts of design decisions to provide realistic and effective solutions to complex problems. For green building projects, sustainable design begins in the early planning stage where site selection and building orientation critically affect the future performance of the planned facilities. In the facilities themselves, H+B focus on well-controlled daylighting to enhance occupant performance, healthy indoor air quality, energy efficient building envelope and HVAC systems, all designed to promote an energized environment and reduce operating costs.
