Hemlock Public School District is a mid-sized public education system serving a 120-square-mile area across five townships in Saginaw and Midland counties, Michigan. It was organized in 1863 and operates two elementary schools—Hemlock Elementary, which provides childcare from infancy through preschool and early childhood programs, young fives, and kindergarten, and K.C. Ling Elementary, serving first through fourth grade—and two secondary schools, Hemlock Middle School (grades 5–8) and Hemlock High School (grades 9–12). The district also offers an alternative education program and an early middle college option. Guided by a Kids First philosophy, the district aims to provide a safe, engaging environment and a broad array of extracurriculars, from athletics and the arts to robotics and service learning, while maintaining open communication with families. Recent collaborations include a Next Gen STEM Festival with Michigan Technological University and a cardiac emergency drill conducted with CMU Health at Hemlock Middle School.
