Heritage Flight Museum is a nonprofit museum focused on preserving and presenting vintage aircraft and related artifacts, with a collection that includes the P-51 Mustang “Val-Halla,” several antique military vehicles, a library, and numerous veteran-donated items. Based in Burlington, Washington, the organization operates from Skagit Regional Airport and emphasizes volunteer support as the core source of its expertise and visitor experience. The museum’s programs and exhibitions are informed by its founders’ Air Force backgrounds and its connections to aerospace history, including figures associated with early space exploration and postwar aviation. Founded in 1996 in Bellingham, the museum relocated in 2014 to its current site and has since expanded its exhibits and facilities to accommodate new acquisitions. While maintaining its focus on aviation heritage, Heritage Flight Museum serves the local community and visiting researchers and enthusiasts interested in mid-20th-century military aviation and veterans’ stories.
