The law firm of Hofheimer Gartlir & Gross, LLP, traces its origins to 1879 when it was founded in New York City as Morgenthau Lachman & Goldsmith. Since its founding, the continuity of leadership and accumulation of knowledge and experience was of great benefit to the Firm’s clients. The Firm grew to provide general practice services to, in some instances, five generations of clients. As the firm evolved, its character was shaped by blending the best aspects of its rich heritage with the needs and realities of the current complex and fast-paced environment. Throughout the Firm’s history, it established multi-faceted, strong working relationships with clients and provided them with high-quality service. The firm closed as of August 1, 2014. Its partners and associates have dispersed throughout Manhattan into new law firms.
