ABOUT US Since the inception of Hill Country Animal League (HCAL, established in 1986), over 50,000 spay/neuter surgeries have been provided which has helped to stop millions of unwanted pets from being born. HCAL works directly with the general public and collaborates with multiple nonprofit animal rescue groups, local city and county animal service programs, schools and other nonprofit agencies to help encourage the importance of pet sterilizations within the greater Hill Country area. The overall goal is to reduce the number of breeding animals in an effort to decrease the number of stray and orphaned animals on the streets, in our communities and in our shelters. MISSION Our mission is to minimize the overpopulation of unwanted dogs and cats in the greater Hill Country area by providing affordable spay/neuter and preventive care services. VISION To have animal unity in our community which includes a collaboration with city, county and rescue organizations to support spay/neuter programs, reducing overpopulation, and promoting animal adoptions from the shelters in an effort to create no-kill shelters in our area.
