Hodgetts + Fung is an interdisciplinary studio of architects and designers, pioneering over three decades of innovative architectural design, advanced material fabrication, and imaginative restorations of cultural landmarks. The two principals, Craig Hodgetts and Hsinming Fung, have established a distinguished project history of award-winning designs including the temporary yet emblematic UCLA Towell Library, the acoustical shell for the Hollywood Bowl, renovation of the historic Egyptian Theater in Hollywood, the LACMA exhibition “California Design, 1930-1965: Living in a Modern Way,” and Wild Beast Pavilion at the California Institute of the Arts. Previously a Founding Dean of Design at CalArts, Hodgetts is now a tenured Professor of Architecture at UCLA. Fung is devoted to bridging the gap between architectural practice and design education, and is currently Director of Academic Affairs at the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc) and President-Elect for the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture (ACSA). We have been published extensively and have received numerous awards, including the AIACC 2008 Firm of the Year Award, the AIA|LA 2006 Gold Medal Award, and the 1996 Chrysler Award for Innovation in Design.
