The Holland Sentinel is a daily newspaper based in Holland, Michigan, founded in 1896. It is published by GateHouse Media, following a 2007 sale from Morris Communications and subsequent corporate mergers with Gannett in 2019. The paper transitioned from an afternoon edition published six days a week to a seven-day morning format in the early 2000s, and its printing operations were moved to Allegan around that period. The Sentinel has earned multiple awards in recent years, including General Excellence awards in 2020 and 2023, and was named Newspaper of the Year in 2019 by the Michigan Press Association. It has pursued partnerships, such as a 2020 collaboration with Tulip Time to collect historical and current photographs. In the local newspaper landscape, Lakeshore Press was once its main competitor but has since ceased operations.
