The Home Technology Association (HTA) is a Los Angeles–based industry association focused on professionalizing the home technology integration sector. It operates a certification program rooted in three pillars—technical competency, aftercare service, and reputation—aimed at identifying firms capable of delivering reliable and trustworthy home technology experiences for residential projects. By evaluating a contractor’s technical track record, customer support responsiveness, and ethical standing, HTA helps homeowners discern capable integrators and find the right fit for the scale and complexity of their projects, beyond price or salesperson personality.
The organization positions itself within the home technology and designed-built spaces, sharing data and guidance with homeowners and design/build professionals to inform partnerships with qualified firms. Founded and based in California, HTA has extended its reach beyond the United States with initiatives such as international collaborations and program expansions, reflecting its goal of establishing a globally recognized standard for excellence in home technology installation and service.
