HOMTV "Your Source for Community News" is Meridian Township's award-winning Government Access Channel housed inside the Meridian Township Municipal Building. HOMTV televises exclusive gavel-to-gavel coverage of Township meetings, community news and original programming on Comcast Cable Channel 21. Programs are also streamed live and archived on HOMTV's website under "Watch HOMTV". The HOMTV Internship Program is an exemplary hands-on training program established to retain and foster talent for the professional television and communications industry. Sponsorship Opportunities and Production Services are also available. HOMTV is funded through cable franchise fees. When a video provider uses the public rights of way to deliver a video signal to the residents, they are required to pay the Township a franchise fee. The monies collected from such use are allocated to provide information programming to the public. In Meridian Township, the franchise agreement between Comcast and Meridian Township allows 9 Public, Educational, and Government Access Channels.
