The mission of HoriSun Hospice is to provide care, comfort and hope to patients and support to their families or other caregivers. HoriSun Hospice is for people who want to remain in their home, or other place of residence throughout the course of their illness. HoriSun Hospice is for people who believe they have a right to be pain free with disease symptoms managed so they will be able to really live for as long as possible. It is for people who are concerned about the future of their loved ones and want their family supported throughout the course of their illness. It is for people who want to have choices, to be involved in their plan of care.

The program is reflective of a spirit and idea of caring that emphasizes comfort and dignity for the dying, making it possible for them to remain independent for as long as possible, and in familiar surroundings. Hospice care is centered on the patient/caregiver. It is more than a health care service as it attends to the emotional, practical and spiritual concerns of the patient and the family according to their wishes.

HOSPICE exists in the belief that through appropriate care and the promotion of a caring community, patients/families/caregivers will be free to attain a degree of mental preparation for death that is satisfying to them. 

HOSPICE does nothing to speed up or to slow down the dying process. Just as doctors and midwives lend support and expertise during the time of childbirth, so hospice provides its presence and specialized knowledge during the dying process.

Our mission and promise to our community is simple - to provide the best care possible, 24 hours a day, seven days a week for all whose lives are affected by a life-limiting illness or condition. Comfort, compassion and caring are our guiding principles.
