Hostelling International (HI) is a non-governmental, not-for profit charity based in the UK, representing 58 member associations from all over the world. It is the world’s largest youth membership organisation, it is recognised by UNESCO (United National Educational Scientific and Cultural Organisation) and Affiliate Member of the UNWTO.

HI is the only global network of youth hostel associations. Its 3.3 million members are offered a choice of more than 2,500 hostels, all meeting internationally agreed assured standards in order to guarantee the guests a great experience at all hostels.

Hostelling International is a membership organisation, and HI membership gives you much more than a comfy bed! It puts you at the heart of a global community of travellers, where you share experiences, culture and friendship with people of all nations.
