Since 1935, Houchen Bindery has provided book binding and preservation services for universities, public libraries, schools, printers, publishers, and individuals all over the country. We offer personalized delivery service throughout the greater third of Mid-America and work with clients spanning from coast to coast. Every day Houchen Bindery Ltd. is entrusted with binding thousands of books, one book at a time. To provide long shelf life and preservation of valued books and documents, our binding standards include attention to detail, workmanship, and utilization of durable materials. We produce a significant majority of our product by the LBI’s standard. When we do not, it is by the choice of our customer. We offer digital printing and laminating of book covers and dust jackets for our customers, Foil stamping, Soft and Hard Cover Binding utilizing state of the art PUR adhesive technology, as well as EVA perfect binding, PVA Double Fan Adhesive, Smyth sewn binding, Side sewn binding and several other library binding methods and techniques. We have developed new niche services in the areas of third party fulfillment for print-on demand photo book production, digitization/document conversion services for a diverse range of customers from libraries, schools, museums and historical societies. Typical products produced are library bound volumes, periodical and journal bindings, textbooks, children's books, coffee table editions, genealogy/family history editions, photo-books, comic book binding for collectors, short run length trade editions, advance reader's copies.
