The Houston Chamber Choir is a professional vocal ensemble based in Houston, Texas. It comprises 24 professional singers chosen through rigorous auditions from leading music schools and conservatories, with members trained at Juilliard, the New England Conservatory, the University of Houston, and the University of Texas, and they are compensated for rehearsals and performances. Under Artistic Director Betsy Cook Weber, the choir has earned national recognition for its work, including a Grammy Award for Best Choral Performance for the complete choral works of Maurice Duruflé and the Margaret Hillis Award for Choral Excellence. The ensemble has been described by Peter Phillips, founder of The Tallis Scholars, as one of the country’s leading ensembles.
