We build the knowledge infrastructure to illuminate smarter solutions combatting violence and exploitation. 

Our goals are to provide reliable data and research on the prevalence and causes of sex trafficking, intimate partner violence, sexual assault, sexual harassment and stalking, and to identify and evaluate holistic strategies to countering these problems. HTI’s work spans the entire gamut from basic to applied research with the goal of shaping effective, evidence-based responses to the complex systems within which these issues are embedded. We collect, generate, and analyze data, connect information sources, and produce research and analytical products in support of policymakers, law enforcement, service providers, and the broader academic community. 

By generating data that does not yet exist and integrating information that the community already has, we seek to create a shared set of facts that help make existing efforts smarter.
