The Human Rights Initiative of North Texas (HRI) is a Dallas-based non-profit organization that assists immigrant survivors of human rights abuses in accessing U.S. legal protections. Over 25 years, it has supported thousands of clients—ranging from asylum seekers and unaccompanied or abused children to victims of family violence and violent crimes—through a network of pro bono attorneys from major Dallas–Fort Worth firms. All services are provided free of charge, focusing on guiding clients through the U.S. immigration system and connecting them with legal and resource support to pursue safety, stability, and opportunity. HRI collaborates with a large pool of volunteer lawyers to expand access to quality legal services for immigrant communities in North Texas. The organization, based in Dallas, has engaged in leadership updates and program enhancements, reflecting ongoing efforts to support vulnerable immigrant populations within the non-profit sector.
