Huru International is a global nonprofit based in New York and Nairobi, dedicated to keeping girls in school by providing high-quality, locally made reusable menstrual pads alongside comprehensive health education. Our curriculum covers essential topics such as sexual and reproductive health, menstrual health management, HIV prevention, gender-based violence, and life skills.

In partnership with organizations like UNICEF, USAID, and This is L., we are expanding our impact across Africa, ensuring that no girl is limited by her period. In developing countries, 2 out of every 5 girls miss up to 4 days of school each month due to menstruation, which leads to poor academic performance, grade repetition, and a significantly higher dropout rate than their male classmates.

Educating girls is one of the most effective ways to break the cycle of poverty. Through the distribution of Huru Kits and vital health information to girls and boys, we empower entire communities—because when girls thrive, everyone benefits.
