IAPAC is a nonprofit organization based in Washington, District of Columbia. Its mission is to improve access to and the quality of prevention, care, treatment, and support services for people living with HIV and co-occurring diseases such as tuberculosis and viral hepatitis. Founded more than 30 years ago, the association unites clinicians and allied health professionals with a goal of ending AIDS as a public health threat by 2030. It operates globally, with more than 30,000 members and programming in over 150 countries, making it the largest professional network of its kind. As a participant in global HIV response efforts, IAPAC collaborates with partners to advance shared public health objectives. In 2022 the organization launched a nomination process to identify cities across six geographic regions whose work exemplifies the Fast-Track Cities mission, reflecting its emphasis on local-action initiatives.
