Illegal Pete's is a mid-sized restaurant and bar concept based in Denver, Colorado, known for fast, healthy Mexican food and a lively, social atmosphere. The chain began in 1995 when founder Pete Turner opened the original location on The Hill in Boulder, aiming to combine quick burritos with music and customer participation. Each Illegal Pete's location also functions as a music venue and social hangout, reflecting a focus on human connection and community.

Since then the company has grown from its Boulder origin to multiple locations across Colorado's Front Range and a 2015 expansion to Tucson, Arizona, creating a regional footprint. The business targets diners seeking quick, flavorful meals in a casual setting and values a diverse, energetic environment where people gather. In early 2024, Illegal Pete's announced expansion of its offices to Boulder, with plans to extend to South Boulder in the near term.
