Independence Bank was founded in 1972 by a group of Havre Business owners who saw a need for a locally owned community bank. The Bank officially opened in March of 1973. Since that time we have acquired branches in Poplar, Scobey, Malta, Glasgow, Conrad, Shelby and our most recent Loan Production offices in Great Falls and Plentywood.  Our “hometown” banking philosophy and local decision making separates us from our competitors. We specialize in Ag and Commercial lending, but we offer a complete range of banking services. We have invested in the newest technology to make sure that we can offer our customers the kinds of services they expect including Online Banking, eStatements and our newest service, Mobile Banking. The decisions we make, our philosophy of sustained growth and our lending practices are all based on the needs of families, Ag operations and businesses in the areas we serve.
