The fundus exam is a critical tool in preventative, corrective, and diagnostic healthcare services. Annual screenings allow physicians to detect early signs of eye diseases such as retinopathy and glaucoma, as well as complications influenced by other conditions such as diabetes and elevated intracranial pressure. Although important, multiple studies conclude that less than 50% of the recommended population complies with the exam. At Insight Optics, our goal is to increase compliance rates by bringing trained ophthalmologists to the point of primary care. Our mobile imaging network allows primary care physicians to record and forward fundus examinations to local ophthalmologists for review.
