The Institute for Better Education is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization focused on removing financial barriers to K-12 education in Arizona through the private school tax credit program. It helps families access private schooling that fits their children’s needs, arguing that parents are best positioned to determine the right school for their child. Founded in 1998, IBE has supported families when the ideal school is out of reach due to cost. The group operates in the education administration space, coordinating guidance and resources for families navigating private school options. It is based in Tucson, Arizona, and maintains a small staff. In 2022, IBE received an Automated External Defibrillator funded by the Gootter Foundation, a concrete recent development for the organization. More information about its mission and activities is available on its website, ibescholarships.org.
