The Institute for Economics & Peace is a think tank focused on measuring peace as a dimension of human well-being, using data-driven research to show peace as tangible and achievable. It develops global and national indices, calculates the economic cost of violence, analyzes country-level risk, and studies Positive Peace. By producing these metrics, the organization provides policymakers, researchers, civil society, the private sector and governments with evidence to pursue peaceful development and to understand peace's economic value.

Headquartered in Sydney, New South Wales, and with offices in New York, Brussels, The Hague, Mexico City and Harare, the institute operates as a non-partisan organization that collaborates with academic institutions, business, governments, NGOs and other peace-focused groups. The Global Peace Index is a core asset within its research portfolio. In August 2025, the institute announced a partnership with the African Australian Advocacy Centre to implement the NSW Global Links initiative, reflecting continued collaboration to expand its reach and impact.
