Since 1984, the non-profit Inter-City Services (ICS) agency a 501(c)(3) has helped clients overcome multiple barriers to employment. Our specific objectives include providing clients with: • Educational opportunities and certifications • Marketable skills through computer software and hardware training • Job-search and placement assistance • Job counseling and retention services • Information and referral services • Justified self-confidence Clientele ICS is an equal-opportunity Workforce Training Institute open to everyone in need of community-based, non-traditional training to acquire or upgrade workplace skills. We focus on low- to moderate-income individuals, including: • Single parents • TANF recipients • High-school dropouts • The unemployed and underemployed • The homeless • Substance abusers • Displaced homemakers • Veterans Enrollment ICS is an open entry/exit institution that provides quality educational service and vocational skill training year round. Our educational and employment-training opportunities include: • Office Automation—Students master Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. • Computer Repair • GED Preparation/Adult Basic Education—This program includes GED test preparation, personal skills development, and literacy tutoring, all aimed at helping clients pass the GED. • Job Preparation—ICS offers employment workshops, internet access for on-line job search, pre-employment test preparation, application submission, and instruction in writing resumes. • Job Readiness Certification— • Case Management and Counseling Services—ICS provides comprehensive vocational and educational counseling. • ICS Computer Tech Services—Clients can purchase computer systems within their budgets. • Health Training-ICS provide counseling in HIV/STD and Holistic Obesity Prevention.
