The International Association for Orthodontics (IAO) is a professional organization in the hospitals and health care sector, headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Founded in 1961 to promote quality orthodontic care among general and pediatric dentists, it pursues this goal through a comprehensive continuing education program. Education offerings are delivered through the annual meeting, accredited instructors, recognized study circles, and networks of affiliated sections. It has a global network of about 2,000 member dentists in more than 60 countries, and is the oldest non-specialty orthodontic association.

As a relatively small organization, the IAO focuses on education and resources for general and pediatric dentists who are not orthodontic specialists. Its Milwaukee headquarters anchor operations while its international membership reflects its role in coordinating education across borders.
