Based in Washington, DC, the International Center for Language Studies (ICLS) is a private, locally owned education organization founded in 1966. It provides language instruction and testing in more than 80 languages and serves a diverse client base that includes diplomats, government and military personnel, business leaders, development professionals, students, medical personnel, lawyers, judges, and economists. The organization maintains long-standing relationships with government agencies and international organizations such as USAID, the Department of Defense, and the World Bank, and is accredited by the Commission on English Language Accreditation as well as designated sponsor of an Exchange Visitor Program. Located in downtown Washington, it operates in the Education Administration Programs field and serves both individuals and government-related programs. In 2025, ICLS secured a new five-year contract to provide language training services for the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center, continuing a partnership dating back to the 1980s.
