OUR STORY

Since 1981, Gold Star Smoked Fish has been supplying New Yorkers with the finest Ethnic Eastern European specialty foods and exquisite smoked fish crafted using authentic Eastern European methods.  From its humble beginnings as a small smokehouse on Myrtle Avenue in Brooklyn, New York, Gold Star has expanded ten-fold and now consists of two affiliated companies, Gold Star Smoked Fish Corp., a premier seafood smoker, and International Gold Star, Inc., an importer and distributor of specialty foods.

Headquartered in Red Hook, Brooklyn, both companies service Ethnic Russian, Eastern European, Middle Eastern, Asian, Kosher and Natural/Organic market segments.  Gold Star’s distribution territory covers 46 states, while its own fleet of trucks delivers to as far west as Chicago, Illinois and as far south as the Washington, D.C. metro area.  Recent Exports to Canada, Israel, Mexico and Panama have positioned the company in the international market place.

Gold Star’s mission is to provide the customers with premium quality foods at value driven prices.  This goal is attained by relentless sourcing of new products, importing from over a dozen countries and forging long-lasting relationships with domestic and foreign vendors.  Dozens of exclusive lines and Private Label products adorn the pages of Gold Star’s catalog. Our success does not stop there!   Gold Star Smoked Fish Corp. remains the leading supplier of the largest assortment of smoked fish specialties in the US market. Uncompromising in quality and authenticity to Eastern European traditions, the company is constantly innovating manufacturing processes and product lines.
