The International Rhino Foundation (IRF) is a non-profit organization focused on rhino conservation, based in Fort Worth, Texas, United States, with a website at rhinos.org. It originated in 1991 as the International Black Rhino Foundation to address severe poaching of Zimbabwe's black rhino, and was renamed the International Rhino Foundation in 1993 to encompass all five rhino species. IRF protects rhino populations and their habitats in the wild and supports management and applied research relevant to rhino conservation in nature and breeding contexts. Its major programs operate in Indonesia, India, Zimbabwe, and Southern Africa, including initiatives such as Rhino Protection Units, the Sumatran Rhino Sanctuary, Javan Rhino Study and Conservation Area, Indian Rhino Vision 2020, Lowveld Rhino Conservation Program, and Operation Stop Poaching Now. The organization employs 11-50 people and is supported by around 900 individual members as well as zoos, private foundations, corporations, and government agencies, under the governance of a Board of Directors.
