More than 130,000 children and adults in over 100 countries have participated in programs run by Technovation (formerly Iridescent), the global tech education nonprofit that inspires people around the world to believe in themselves as leaders and problem-solvers. 

As one of its core programs, Technovation Girls (formerly Technovation Challenge) equips young women around the world with the skills to become tech entrepreneurs and leaders, and its alumni have gone on to win startup and app-building competitions, speak at events like TEDx Women, IBM India Onward, and Google Science Fair, and receive internships with prominent technology companies, higher education institutions and government agencies.

Its sibling program, Technovation Families (formerly AI Family Challenge), recognizes that a parent is a child's first teacher, so it brings together families, schools, communities and industry mentors to play, learn and create with AI. Technovation Families partners with leading experts in AI, including those from Google and NVIDIA and academic researchers from institutions including USC, University of Michigan, Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, Carnegie Mellon, and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

Founded in 2006 by aerospace engineer Tara Chklovski as Iridescent, Technovation has grown from hosting local Family Science nights in Los Angeles to a nonprofit that spans 100+ countries with thousands of individuals who believe in the power of girls, families, and communities to change the world with technology.
